There are about 78 million Americans born between 1946 to 1964. These people are considered to be baby boomers. Times are tough, so how do they make extra income as they age?
A number one idea for supplementing the income seems to be investing. Invest in the companies that were created due to the influx of the baby boomer generation such as nursing home stocks, home improvement stocks, vitamin companies and exercise equipment companies. These definitely are the companies that the baby boomers will be associated with. 78 million people using products of these companies makes for a good investment.
Another suggestion is making money online in the comfort of your own home, setting your own hours to work. There are endless opportunities on websites, but you need to be very careful and do some research. The majority of these money-making websites are scams. Another way to get some spare cash is by cleaning out your basement and closets, getting rid of years of accumulations that no longer will be of use. A lot of baby boomers may consider down-sizing to a smaller house since the children are all on their own. This would save money on utilities and upkeep alone. A very nice way to make a little extra money is to turn your hobbies into cash. Sell what you create. This can become a nice home business in itself. A part-time job is always a possibility also.
Retirement is another facet of your life and you should enjoy each day of it. Retirement is what you make it to be. Now is the time to do the things you thought you would always want to do.
