What Seniors are Doing for Money Today

Seniors now-a-days do many different things to create money for themselves. Some seniors are on a budget because they choose not to work.

Some of the seniors live off their social security income check. The amount of the check can vary depending on if you had a spouse who worked or not. The amount of the check will also vary depending on how much the individual worked or not.

Some seniors work part time at Wal-mart as a greeter. They are able to make a certain amount of money while still being able to collect their full amount of social security. If they make more money than they are supposed to, then they will get less money for their social security check.

Some seniors are disabled and collect disability checks. These checks not only cover them for their expenses, but they also get medical coverage covered and prescription coverage.

Many seniors live off of their 401k or other type of retirement fund that they set up when they worked. They may have contributed money and their employer contributed to their retirement too. Seniors have to make sure that their money that has been saved over the many years is safe and invested well, so they will not lose any money. They need to watch the stock market and talk to a financial adviser who will be able to assess their financial needs, and be able to plan for the future financial needs of the senior.
